Shattered mirror

A shattered mirror on the ground pieces scattered all around

I pick them up and cut my hand

Is this all part of, God’s grand plan?

I try again and cuts sink deep

I try my best to make it up

This mess I’ve made is too much to mend

The cuts sink deep into my hand

I can’t remake this mirrored image, with each passing day its image fades

Perhaps it’s that I can’t remake, a leap of faith is what it takes

To trust the maker of this glass

To make an image not of my past

A future bright and new and bold

In Him I’ll trust to behold
