It’s my birthday today, not a particularly remarkable event given the number of human beings on our planet. But, wait, perhaps remarkable because I’m alive…in more ways than one!
I started off the year with bang (too soon for suicide jokes?) My life as I knew it ended that day, I survived physically but came out awakened and a new creation in, Christ. I celebrate this day giving thanks to our, God: His undeserved mercy, forgiveness, purpose and care is so amazing!
What do I want for my birthday? Hmmm, um, IDK…to be honest my interest in a lot of the things I used to enjoy before coming to know, Jesus aren’t my concerns anymore. Motorcycles, hockey, movies, all have lost there obsession, replaced with new loves and passions.
I desire for my birthday to know more fully my, God: to know His will, ways, and to follow, Jesus. I hope Jesus increases within me, and that, Evan decreases. And don’t get me wrong, I enjoy cake as much as the next guy, but life has taken on new purpose and meaning in the, Savior.
I pray I heal of my past wounds, using them for His glory. Boldy proclaim, Jesus crucified and risen, and love as I ought. I do not write these things to be perceived as pious, holier than thou, or any desire for praise
I write these things because I’m amazed at how our, God works: how He redeems, saves, and changes us so much. I went from unbelief, shooting myself in the head with a shotgun to loving life and knowing and loving the, Lord Jesus Christ. Praise be to, God: all glory, honor, worship, and praise.
Focus upon, Jesus Christ my friends, you’ll be happy you did, trust me!
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” (2 Corinthians 5:27).
“‘My son,’ the father said, ‘you are always with me, and everything I have is yours. But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’” (Luke 15:31).
“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me” (Galatians 2:20).
