Pray for revival

There is being experienced within the Church a strong desire for revival. This is fantastic and God honoring I believe. I hear of prayers for peace, for the Spirit’s guidance and filling. All good things.

I am moved to say also, we should pray in repentance within our churches. We ask for revival, for new things yet we neglect what has already been given to us. We have seriously neglected God’s Holy Word, turning instead to false teachers and anything which brings emotional high. We have neglected the ONLY norm for salvation, faith and practice. The very Word of God.

we have weakened to footing of the faith by downgrading it to song and emotion only. Emotionsand worship are indeed beautiful blessings of Our Loving God. However, we mustn’t deny authority in dictating our belief and practice. Stepping back from Scriptural dependence have opened ourselves to falsehood of many kinds. In many ways, we are in bed with the world, not salt, not light. We are not to be of the world, we are in it but not of it. This is not our home! We are often greedy, arrogant, lovers of the flesh, and lazy.

Praise be to God for mercy and forgiveness in the Blessed Lord Jesus Christ! We are indeed prone to err, but our Lord is patient, loving and faithful. Let us keep our eyes oh Him, casting all our fears, failures, concerns and weakness upon the Only Savior

The evil one is so cunning and deceptive! “I have a better way,” “yes, I know the Bible says that, but…” we have turned from truth and its pursuit to fleeting feelings and emotional highs. We must repent: return with focus and dependence upon on God to his Word to His power and purpose.

We must return to the true, to the trustworthy, to the truthful. To the Word, to worship, to fellowship, to prayer. “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer” (Acts 2:42).

“The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons” (1 Timothy 4:1).

Gracious Father God, we come before You in brokenness and weakness. We have abandoned the gifts given to us for good and looked elsewhere for blessing. We stand with frown and outstretched hand asking for blessing with what You have given us sits as trash upon the ground. We are so sorry for our pride, our ungrateful hearts and how easily we are deceived. We stand in the Righteousness of Christ, not our own, praise God! May we never forget our righteousness IS Christ, not our own. You Lord Jezus are all in all! We pray indeed Gracious God for revival. We pray the gospel explodes in power and truth throughout this broken world. We pray Your Church, Your people who You bought by Your very blood return to Your Word for what we believe, confess, and Practice. Please grant us passion to crave Your Word as infants in Christ as we are. Please give us wisdom to handle Your Word of truth as we ought. We can do nothing without You Our God! Please please refocus us, humble us, forgive and renew. Yes Mighty God, bring revival. Please raise up Your true Church, in the hope of You alone Lord Jesus. All for Your glory, honor, praise and love oh, Christ Jesus. Amen
